Het ligt ten zuiden van Sneek en ten oosten van Heeg, tussen de dorpen Jutrijp en Koufurderrige. De dorpskern ligt aan de Zandsloot. Verder stromen de Houtensloot, Tochtsloot en Jeltesloot door het dorpsgebied. In het noordoosten ligt de Anewiel. Dit water is via de Kerksloot verbonden met het Oudhof die onder meer de Ooster Wijmerts en de Prinses Margrietkanaal met elkaar verbindt.
