Het Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid (afgekort Beeld en Geluid) is een audiovisueel archief met museale functies. Het gebouw is ontworpen door de architecten Willem-Jan Neutelings en Michiel Riedijk. Het gebouw werd op 1 december 2006 geopend door koningin Beatrix. In 2007 heeft het de Nederlandse Betonprijs en in 2008 de Gouden Piramide gewonnen. In 2010 is het gebouw van Beeld en Geluid verkozen tot Gebouw van de Jaren Nul. De totale bouw- en inrichtingskosten besloegen EUR 60 miljoen. Gebruikers van het Mediapark en inwoners van Hilversum hebben het gebouw in 2006 als bijnaam De snoepdoos gegeven. Uit een verkiezing van het regionale dagblad de Gooi- en Eemlander kwam de term De glasbak tevoorschijn.
