De Hondsbossche en Pettemer Zeewering werd in 1880 aangelegd nadat de natuurlijke duinen door herhaaldelijke watersnood werden doorbroken. Je volgt het fietspad boven op de dijk langs de kustlijn. Op deze kunstmatige barrière is doorheen de jaren een nieuwe natuurlijke biotoop ontstaan die nu een beschermd natuurgebied vormt. Onderweg is er een prachtig uitkijkpunt op het natuurgebied.
