In 1633 kreeg Willem Ripperda de toestemming om de Oostendorper molens te bouwen. Aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw dreigde de molen te vervallen en moest in 1930 worden gerestaureerd. In 1946 verdwenen de molens grotendeels in het hoge water van de poel en werden pas in 1987 weer volledig hersteld. Sinds mei 1988 is de molen weer in bedrijf en toegankelijk voor bezoekers, die kunnen zien hoe meel wordt gemalen en olie wordt geslagen.
