Na het opdoeken van de tramlijn is dit viaduct jarenlang in onbruik geweest. In 1975 werd het viaduct weer als dusdanig gebruikt toen de Einderweg en de Frommestraat met elkaar verbonden werden ten behoeve van landbouwverkeer, dat daardoor niet meer de drukke rijksweg hoefde over te steken.
Het opknappen van het viaduct kostte destijds 320.000 gulden.
Achter het viaduct maakte de tram een scherpe draai naar links, en ging dan aan de zuidkant van de rijksweg verder naar Margraten.
