De Biomassa Energiecentrale Sittard is een energiecentrale die uitsluitend groene energie levert: door middel van verbranding van biomassa wordt er elektriciteit, warm water en warmte verkregen. Het geproduceerd vermogen van het warmwatergedeelte is circa 4 megawatt. De turbine heeft een vermogen van 1,2 megawatt waarvan circa 1 megawatt aan het 10 kilovolt-elektriciteitsnet van Essent wordt geleverd. De centrale krijgt haar brandstof aangeleverd van de groendiensten uit de omliggende gemeenten en een aantal bedrijven uit de groenvoorziening.
