De diepste kloof van de rivier ligt hier, ingeklemd tussen de hoge bergen. De diepe kloof is tien keer dieper dan de Grand Canyon van de VS, gevormd door de grote flanken van de 7e hoogste berg Dhaulagiri en de Annapurna I,
Ghasa ligt op de grens van de regio's Annapurna en Mustang.
