Sporting Lissabon is een Portugese voetbalclub uit Lissabon, uitkomend in de Primeira Liga. De club werd opgericht op 1 juli 1906, door Jose Alvalade.
Sporting is een van de "drie grote in Portugal", samen met FC Porto en aartsrivaal en stadsgenoot Benfica. Het staat bekend om de jeugdopleiding die op FC Barcelona na de beste van Europa is volgens de website van de UEFA. Spelers die hier opgeleid werden, zijn onder anderen Cristiano Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Ricardo Quaresma, Simão, João Moutinho, Miguel Veloso en Nani. Sporting bracht als enige club ter wereld twee voetballers voort die de Ballon d'or hebben gewonnen: Figo en Ronaldo .
