Prachtige route door landelijk gebied. Naar Belmonte moet er al wat geklommen worden, maar daarna gaat het echt omhoog met een stijging van circa 400m vanaf Gonçalo. Het eindpunt van de dag, Guarda, is op 1000m hoogte de hoogst gelegen stad van Portugal.
