San Marino voerde als eerste ter wereld gratis gezondheidszorg in. San Marino is de oudste nog bestaande constitutionele republiek ter wereld. Met een overschot op de begroting wordt het land beschouwd als een zeer stabiele economie. Al even trots zijn de 30.000 San Marinezen op hun nationale voetbalteam dat luistert naar de bijnaam ‘I Titani’. De Titanen in kwestie bestaan uit een allegaartje loodgieters, bedienden, leerkrachten en boeren. De Titanen hebben zich nog nooit weten te kwalificeren voor een groot toernooi. Op sociale media heeft het Titanenteam anderzijds wel een gigantische schare fans, enkele duizenden keren groter dan het land inwoners telt. Een straffere underdog vinden? Onbegonnen werk.
