De Mun-rivier, soms gespeld als Moon River, is een zijrivier van de Mekong. Het vervoert ongeveer 26 kubieke kilometer water per jaar. De rivier begint in het Khao Yai National Parkgebied van het San Kamphaeng-gebergte, nabij Nakhon Ratchasima in het noordoosten van Thailand. Het stroomt oostwaarts door het Khorat Plateau in het zuiden van Isan (Buriram, Surin en Sisaket provincies) over een afstand van 750 kilometer, totdat het zich aansluit bij de Mekong bij Khong Chiam in Ubon Ratchathani. De belangrijkste zijrivier van de Mun-rivier is de Chi-rivier, die zich aansluit in het district Kanthararom van de provincie Sisaket. [Wikipedia]
