Hoewel niet bedoeld als zodanig, is deze brede kamer eigenlijk een antekamer van de Sixtijnse Kapel. Het verbindt ook met de Pauluskapel en is bereikbaar via de lange trap die bekend staat als de Scala Regia. Links van de ingang stond vroeger de pauselijke troon, die nu aan de andere kant voor de deur naar de Pauluskapel staat.
