Palamós és un municipi de Catalunya situat a la comarca del Baix Empordà. El seu port, raó de l'existència del municipi, ha tingut èpoques de gran esplendor, especialment al principi del segle xx, amb la indústria surotapera. Ara, el conjunt portuari aglutina tres importants sectors: el pesquer, el comercial i el turístic.
