Aigüesmortes és un municipi francès, situat al departament del Gard i a la regió d'Occitània. L'any 2017 tenia 8325 habitants. Els seus habitants s'anomenen aigamortencs en occità i aiguemortais en francés.La ciutat està fortificada i envoltada d'estanys, canals i de l'enlluernadora claredat de les salines. Les muralles amb torres i portes, edificades a partir de 1272 per l'empresari genovès Guillaume Boccanegra, ens han arribat gairebé intactes.
