El Funicular de Santa Luza, més conegut com l'Ascensor , té una estació a l'Av. 25 d'Abril, prop de l'hospital. Està ubicat en una zona elevada darrere de l'estació de trens i s'hi pot arribar prenent un ascensor gratuït des de l'estació de trens i creuant un pont metàl·lic o ingressant al Viana Shopping.
Amb 650 metres de longitud, és el telefèric més llarg del país i triga aproximadament 7 minuts a ascendir fins a una alçada de 160 metres.
El telefèric es va construir per primera vegada el 1923 i recentment ha estat completament renovat. La petita cabina té capacitat per a uns 12 passatgers i passa cada 15 minuts.
El telefèric funciona de l'1 de gener al 31 de maig i de l'1 d'octubre al 31 de desembre, de 8.00 a 18.00 hores. Durant els mesos d'estiu, de l'1 de juny al 30 de setembre, el telefèric funciona de 8.00 a 20.00 hores.
