Assenede er en kommune i den belgiske provins Østflandern. Kommunen ligger i regionen Meetjesland, er sammensat af fire delkommuner og har i alt cirka 14.200 indbyggere, som kaldes Assenedaere. I almindelig tale udtales Assenede som "Asnee", hvilket i mundtlig kommunikation kan føre til forvirring med Leiedorp Afsnee ved Gent, som ikke har noget med det at gøre.
