Le Trou des Massotais er en lille vandløb, der ligger på plateauet af Tailles, nær barakken i Fraiture, et af de højeste punkter i Belgien. Det viser sig at være en gammel guldmine, den første der med sikkerhed er kendt i Belgien.
Tilstedeværelsen af guld i Ardennerne har været kendt siden i det mindste den galliske periode. Regionen lå på grænsen mellem områdene af Éburonerne, Tréviresne og Condruzesne. Der er spor af udvinding, der kan identificeres på den cambro-siliciske rand af De Høje Ardenner, som strækker sig fra plateauet af Tailles til regionen Malmedy, især via Vielsalm og Faymonville. Jordflytninger og minedriftsudgravninger, selv guldpartikler, kan især findes syd for plateauet af Tailles og i Faymonville, hvor gamle mineaffaldshøje allerede længe er blevet identificeret, men også måske længere mod nord ved Chefna, eller ved Ninglinspo. Eller endda længere mod vest, på siden af Libin.
