Stedet ligger delvist i området omkring Hüggel, som tilhører landskabsbeskyttelsesområdet Teutoburger Wald. Højdeområdet strækker sig fra 62 m til 228 m over havets overflade. I Hasbergen ligger den 108 meter høje Rote Berg. I den nordlige del af byen danner Wilkenbach grænsen til nabobyen Osnabrück.
Det nuværende Hasbergen består af de tidligere selvstændige kommuner Hasbergen, Gaste og Ohrbeck.
