Baesweiler [med Dehnungs-e, udtales: ˈbaːsˌvaɪlɐ] er en mellemstor by i regionen Nordrhein-Westfalen i byregionen Aachen. I en kort periode prægede minearbejdet byen og førte til en hurtig befolkningstilvækst.
området kaldes Jülicher Börde og ligger i Köln-bugten, hvilket begrunder en jordbundsammensætning bestående af loess. I istiderne trængte gletsjere ind i denne bugt og malede klipper, som de havde bragt langvejs fra nord. Efter smeltningen var der tilbage en frugtbar jordlag.
