Stationsbygningen Lauscha ligger 611 m over havets overflade i byen Lauscha i Thüringer Skiferbjerg. Den ligger ved L 1145, som i dette afsnit bærer navnet Bahnhofstraße, i Lauschadalen mellem Großen Tierberg med Schnitzerskopf mod øst og Teufelsholz mod vest syd for byens centrum. Modtagelsesbygningen ligger ved strækningens kilometer 38,51. Indikatorsignalet fra Steinach står ved kilometer 37,9 og det fra Oberlauscha ved kilometer 39,6.
