Cashes Green Halt blev åbnet den 22. januar 1930 på det, der nu er Golden Valley Line mellem Stroud og Stonehouse. Denne linje blev åbnet i 1845 som Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway fra Swindon til Gloucester, og dette var en af mange små stationer og holdepladser, der blev bygget på denne linje til den lokale passagerbetjening. Denne særlige halte blev bygget senere end resten og blev bygget for at betjene det dengang nye Cashes Green boligprojekt vest for Stroud som svar på en offentlig anmodning.
