Bivels ligger i en dalbøjning af Our. Floden danner samtidig grænsen til Tyskland. Stedet grænser op til Our naturpark, og vest for stedet ligger Our-dæmningen. Cirka 3 kilometer syd for stedet ligger byen Vianden, vest for Stolzemburg og på den tyske side Keppeshausen. Landsbyen er forbundet med nabobyerne via N 10.
