Estaus Palæet på Rossio Plads i Lissabon var hovedkvarter for den portugisiske inkvisition. Det oprindelige palæ blev bygget på nordsiden af pladsen omkring 1450 som indkvartering for udenlandske dignitærer og adelsfolk, der besøgte Lissabon.
I 1536, under Kong Johan III's regeringstid, blev inkvisitionen etableret i Portugal, og palæet blev så småningom sæde for institutionen. Palæet havde et fængsel og tribunal, hvor de anklagede for kætteri, heksekunst og især for hemmeligt at praktisere den jødiske tro, blev underlagt retssag, forfølgelse, tortur og henrettelse. Rossio-pladsen og den nærliggende St. Domingos-plads blev ofte brugt som ramme for offentlige henrettelser. Den første officielle auto-da-fé fandt sted i 1540.
