Die Koningsdonkstraat ist eine traditionelle gepflasterte Straße, die Gentbrugge ein Flair von Paris-Roubaix verleiht. Die Koningsdonkstraat führte zu der (jetzt verschwundenen) Fähre, die die Schelde überquerte. Am Ende der Straße kann man noch das prächtige Gebäude sehen, das jetzt ein Restaurant ist und von dem aus man die Schelde betrachten kann, wo früher die Fähre war. Zu der Zeit, als die Überquerung noch stattfand, war die Koningsdonkstraat eine wichtige Kommunikationsroute zwischen Heusden und Gentbrugge.
