Es ist eine typische Stadt für Expats: von den 1,2 Millionen Einwohnern sind 65 Prozent nicht in Brüssel geboren, in den vergangenen zwanzig Jahren sind 1,1 Millionen Menschen weggezogen, 1,2 Millionen sind zugezogen; die Durchlässigkeit ist enorm. Diese Lockerheit und Relativität ist überall in der Stadt sichtbar."
