Bockor wird hier in der Brauerei von Bockor hergestellt. Omer Vander Ghinste war der Brauer, der Bockor machte. Bockor hatte zahlreiche Cafés. Das Café Sportwereld in der Nähe ist eines davon. Um etwas Presse zu machen, stellte Omer Vande Ghinste Brandfenster in den Cafés mit seinem Namen und dem Namen des Bieres auf. Als der Sohn kam, wurde er ebenfalls Omer genannt, damit man bei der Übernahme durch den Sohn die teuren Brandfenster nicht ändern musste. So setzte sich die Tradition fort. Jetzt gibt es bereits 5 Generationen Omer. Sie haben ihr neuestes Bier daher Omer genannt.
