Dieses Kriegerdenkmal befindet sich in der Sint-Nicolas-Kirche.
Die Kirche stand im Mittelpunkt der Bombardierung von Namur am 18. August 1944, als amerikanische Flugzeuge versuchten, die Luxemburger Brücke zu zerstören. Die Bomben verfehlten ihr Ziel und zerstörten den westlichen Teil von Namur, den Stadtteil Saint-Nicolas. Fast 360 Menschen starben an den Folgen dieses Fehlers.
Zur Erinnerung an dieses schmerzliche Kriegsereignis wurde links vom Eingang der Kirche ein Denkmal errichtet, das die Namen der zivilen Opfer des Bombenangriffs vom 18. August 1944 in die Liste der im Dienst während der beiden Weltkriege Gefallenen aufnimmt Kriege. Jedes Jahr findet hier eine Gedenkfeier im Beisein lokaler und regionaler Behörden statt.
