Pulsnitz ist eine sächsische Kleinstadt im Landkreis Bautzen am westlichen Rand der Oberlausitz, etwa 10 km südlich von Kamenz und rund 25 km nordöstlich der Landeshauptstadt Dresden. Pulsnitz ist Sitz der Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Pulsnitz.
Die Altstadt liegt auf einer Anhöhe oberhalb des Pulsnitztals, der gleichnamige Fluss entspringt im Nachbarort Ohorn. Die kleine Stadt liegt eingebettet in die Hügelketten des Westlausitzer Hügel- und Berglandes . Die Bergkuppen sind größtenteils bewaldet.
