Das Karlsruher Schloss wurde ab 1715 im Stile des Barocks als Residenz des Markgrafen Karl Wilhelm von Baden-Durlach errichtet. Es diente bis 1918 als Residenzschloss der Markgrafen bzw. Großherzöge von Baden.
Heute ist in dem Gebäude das Badische Landesmuseum und ein Teil des Bundesverfassungsgerichts untergebracht.
