Die Avenida del Rey Jaume III befindet sich in Palma auf der Insel Mallorca und ist das Ergebnis eines Erweiterungs- und Innenreformplans für Palma, des Pla Alomar, der vom Architekten und Stadtplaner Gabriel Alomar i Esteve 1943 genehmigt wurde. Dieser Plan sah zwölf Reformen im historischen Zentrum vor, von denen jedoch nur vier umgesetzt wurden: die Öffnungen der Avenida Jaume III und der Avenida der Verfassung, sowie die Reformen des Plaça Major und des Plaça de l'Olivar. Es ist das Ergebnis der Überlegung, eine breite Verbindung zwischen der alten Stadt und dem westlichen Stadtteil zu schaffen. Die Route ist gerade und einheitlich, mit portizierten Bögen und Fassaden im historicistischen Stil.
