Die Kapelle ist ein alter Pilgerort. Sie wurde umfassend restauriert und hat ihre dreiteilige Apsis behalten. Ihr Name wird erstmals 1274 erwähnt, als ein gewisser Jean de la Garde aus Angers einen Weinberg in Erbpacht nahm, der der Abtei von Chaloché gehörte, die ihn wiederum von Hugues de Matheflon erhalten hatte. Hugues Lejean, einer der ersten Herren, gründete an dieser Stelle 1320 eine Kapelle, die der Jungfrau Maria und allen Heiligen geweiht war.
