Schipluiden ist ein Ort in der niederländischen Gemeinde Midden-Delfland. Der Name wird zum ersten Mal Mitte des zwölften Jahrhunderts erwähnt. Er leitet sich von dem Flüßchen Leede ab, das bei Schipluiden schiffbar wurde. Mehrere Ortsnamen in der Umgebung beziehen sich auf die Leede.
In der Harnaschpolder in Schipluiden wurde im Sommer 2003 die älteste bekannte ständige Siedlung der Niederlande ausgegraben. In der Zeit von 3600 v. Chr. bis 3300 v. Chr. lebten hier Menschen auf einer Düne von 150 mal 50 Metern, die ein bis zwei Meter hoch war. Das Dorf war eingezäunt, um weidendes Vieh draußen zu halten, und die Bewohner bauten Gerste und Emmer an.
