Schagen ), im Westfriesischen Skagen, ist eine Stadt in der gleichnamigen Gemeinde in der niederländischen Provinz Nordholland. Innerhalb davon liegt sie in der Region Westfriesland. Die Stadt hat eine Fläche von 19,32 km². Die Gemeinde hat 46.834 Einwohner und die Stadt selbst hat 19.025 Einwohner. Die Gemeinde liegt im Nordwesten von Westfriesland, der größte Teil liegt gerade noch innerhalb des Westfriesischen Omringdijk, das Gebiet der ehemaligen Gemeinde Zijpe liegt außerhalb. Die Einwohner von Schagen werden seit jeher "Schagenezen" genannt.
