Das imposante Casa dos Carvalhos oder Casa dos Mota Prego ist ein herrschaftliches Anwesen, das seinen Ursprung in einem ersten Turm aus dem Mittelalter hat, einem wichtigen und gemeinsamen Element dieser Zeit.
Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts nahm Gaspar de Carvalho, Kanzler von König João III ., Verbesserungen am Gebäude vor. Erst zu Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts wurde die Hauptfassade des Hauses errichtet. Die letzte Renovierung des Gebäudes erfolgte zwischen Ende des 18. und Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Heute gibt es hier zwei Restaurants . Papaboa und Històric von Papaboa mit verschiedenen Möglichkeiten: Restaurant, Eisdiele, Crêperie, Teestube...
