Autumn walk in the Provincial Green Domain Vrijbroek - Mechelen

The Vrijbroekpark is a green lung of about 50 ha on the outskirts of the city of Mechelen. The lanes and water features give the park a stately impression, but it is the rose garden that makes the park grand. In 2003, this garden, which has more than 1000 rose varieties, received the prestigious 'Award of Garden Excellence'. With the perennial borders, the utility garden with, among other things, its old fruit varieties and the flower collections (dahlias, fuchsias, poppies and peonies) you get to see a piece of Belgian horticultural art in the Vrijbroekpark. source: brochure province of Antwerp/Leisure

Public transport: From Central Station take city bus 2 to the Vrijbroekpark stop, or you get off bus 288 (Mechelen - Londerzeel) or bus 289 (Mechelen - Breendonk) very close to the destination at the Fortuinstraat stop on the Hombeeksesteenweg.
