City Towers
The year is 1263. The oldest impression of the Borken city seal beneath the document shows a Romanesque castle built from massive blocks.
The castle wall with its merlons and the double gate is dominated by imposing city towers. Today, only remnants of the wall are visible.
Five medieval city towers - the Diebesturm, the Holkensturm, the Kuhmturm, the Wedemhoveturm, and the Windmühlenturm - are, however, well preserved.
