Característico de Zelzate es 'Mietje Stroel', la chica que orinaba donde le parecía. Criada por un contrabandista en Zelzate, esta encontradiza ahora tiene una estatuilla justo frente al ayuntamiento, e incluso un museo propio. Mietje Stroel también es conocida como la prometida oficial de Manneken Pis de Bruselas. El paseante comienza en la antigua casa del puente, donde se alberga el museo de Mietje Stroel, y explora los restantes caminos verdes de Zelzate-Oeste.
