El antiguo Chalet Real fue demolido en 1953 tras sufrir graves daños durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La familia real se alojó en esta villa desde 1957. Desde 1973, se estableció un hotel y restaurante en su interior. Desde mayo de 2004, estas actividades se han suspendido y actualmente es un centro de rehabilitación oncológica.
