¿Quién no recuerda los libros de Ernest Claes? Fueron adaptados entre 1969 y 1972 a la inmensamente popular serie de televisión 'Nosotros, los Señores de Zichem'. Al fondo de la estatua se encuentra el Monasterio de las Hermanas Anunciadas donde, entre otros, Madre Cent (interpretada por Jenny Thange), nacida Rosalia-Catharina Van Inthout, profesada como María Jacinta (1851-1916), una persona muy decidida y fundadora de la Escuela Libre de las Hermanas Anunciadas, vivió y trabajó en 1873.
