El cementerio militar francés de Machelen-aan-de-Leie se encuentra en la Dorpsstraat. A través del portal de acceso se puede entrar libremente al cementerio. Aquí se recuerda a 750 soldados franceses caídos que murieron en la región de Leie y Escalda durante la Ofensiva Final de 1918. Cada año, el primer domingo de septiembre, también se celebra aquí un homenaje franco-belga.
