El arroyo Garather Mühlenbach tiene aproximadamente 10 kilómetros de longitud. Toca las ciudades de Solingen, Hilden y Düsseldorf en Renania del Norte-Westfalia.
El Garather Mühlenbach nace de dos manantiales en una zona boscosa entre Bauermannsheide, el parque de aves y animales de Solingen y el antiguo estadio en Hermann-Löns-Weg, en el oeste del barrio Ohligs de Solingen. En su tramo superior, en territorio de Solingen, también se le llama arroyo Kalversterzer y fluye allí 20 metros debajo de una línea de alta tensión en una tubería. Al oeste de Brabant, el arroyo forma el límite natural de la ciudad entre Solingen y Hilden.
