El Museo del Ducado de Luneburgo fue un museo en Luneburgo con un enfoque en la historia del Ducado de Luneburgo. Además, había exposiciones sobre otros temas, entre ellos la historia de la salina de Luneburgo.
En 1878, entre otros, Georg Keferstein fundó la asociación de museos para el Ducado de Luneburgo, que en los años siguientes abogó por la creación de un museo sobre la historia regional. Con ayudas financieras de la región del Ducado de Luneburgo, entre 1889 y 1891 se construyó el edificio del museo según los planes de los arquitectos August Friedrich Heithaus y Ferdinand Münzenberger en un terreno proporcionado por la ciudad de Luneburgo. El museo fue inaugurado en 1891. La base de la colección fue la colección de materiales de enseñanza de la Academia de Caballería de Luneburgo, cerrada en 1850.
