Construida en 1629 y restaurada en 1870, la Puerta de Amont es la única que se conserva de las murallas de Meung-sur-Loire. Era la puerta principal, la puerta de honor, ya que servía de lugar de reunión de los concejales. También permitía a los habitantes protegerse y defender la ciudad.
