En los años 50 se midió la caída nuclear en Broadway Tower. También se construyó aquí un búnker subterráneo del Cuerpo ROC cerca de la torre. Estuvo continuamente habitado desde 1961. El búnker fue uno de los últimos lugares de la Guerra Fría.
