Montfort es una ciudad en el Medio Limburgo, al este del Mosa y al sur de Roermond. La población es de 3.130 habitantes. Es uno de los seis núcleos del municipio de Roerdalen. La localidad, conocida principalmente por las ruinas del Castillo de Montfort, fue construida a mediados del siglo XIII, con piedra que fue transportada a través del Mosa desde el norte de Francia.
