Preston Palace es un antiguo hospital en Almelo, que ha sido transformado en un resort todo incluido con centro de entretenimiento. El nombre deriva del municipio socio de Almelo, Preston, en el Reino Unido. El hospital Prinses Irene, que estaba vacío y destinado a ser demolido, fue vendido en 1987 por el municipio de Almelo al empresario Hennie van der Most. En mayo de 1990 se inauguró el centro de entretenimiento, y el hotel-restaurante siguió en 1992. En 1997 también se añadió una piscina con complejo de sauna y un vestíbulo lleno de atracciones de feria. El hotel cuenta con casi 1000 camas. La empresa opera según el principio todo incluido. Con alrededor de 500 empleados, la empresa es uno de los mayores empleadores de Twente.
