La imponente Casa dos Carvalhos o Casa dos Mota Prego es una casa señorial que tiene su origen en una primera torre construida en la Edad Media , elemento importante y común en aquella época.
A mediados del siglo XVI, Gaspar de Carvalho, canciller del rey João III , realizó mejoras en el edificio. Sólo a principios del siglo XVIII se construyó la fachada principal de la casa. El edificio fue renovado por última vez entre finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX.
Hoy hay dos restaurantes aquí. Papaboa e Histórico by Papaboa con diferentes posibilidades: restaurante, heladería, crepería, salón de té...
