Lo más llamativo de esta plaza es el gran cartel de Braga , un lugar popular para hacerse selfies, pero también para admirar la hermosa arquitectura mientras estás aquí.
Justo detrás del cartel se encuentra la Igreja de São Marcos (Iglesia de San Marcos), que tiene una característica fachada curva.
Al arquitecto braguero Carlos Amarante se le atribuyen varias obras emblemáticas de la arquitectura nacional de los siglos XVIII y XIX, marcadas por la transición del barroco al neoclásico. Entre ellas, destacan el Santuario del Bom Jesus do Monte -declarado Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO en 2019-, la Iglesia de la Trindade en Oporto (donde fue enterrado) y el Palacio de la Brejoeira en Monção.
La lista incluye también el antiguo hospital e iglesia de São Marcos, construido en la plaza donde hoy el ingeniero da su nombre, en el corazón de Braga.
