L'église Kapellekerk de Bruxelles est le nom populaire de l'église gothique Notre-Dame-de-la-Capelle, située à la fin de la Hoogstraat, près du quartier populaire des Marolles. (wikipedia, s.d.).
Le duc Godfried I de Brabant y fit construire une petite chapelle au 12ème siècle. Cette chapelle a évolué entre le 13ème et le 15ème siècle pour devenir une église à part entière.
Ce bâtiment ecclésiastique est un exemple magnifique du gothique brabançon tardif.
De plus, la Kapellekerk est également liée au peintre Pieter Bruegel l'Ancien (1525-1569) : c'est ici que son mariage a eu lieu et qu'il est enterré. Un monument funéraire rappelle ces événements. Devant l'église se trouve également une statue de Bruegel.
La Kapellekerk fait partie du projet "Maîtres flamands" organisé par le tourisme en Flandre.
