L'église paroissiale orientée Notre-Dame de la Neige est située du côté sud de la route de Dendermonde, qui constituait l'axe principal du centre du village et traversait historiquement la commune d'est en ouest. L'église est construite sur un terrain rectangulaire, l'ancien cimetière, à l'intersection avec Kerkham et en face de la Kerkstraat. La façade ouest de Kerkham donne sur le domaine protégé de Van Acker avec son château, qui est maintenant l'hôtel de ville. L'ancien cimetière est aujourd'hui en grande partie revêtu. Seule une bande le long de la route a été aménagée en pelouse plantée de trois jeunes tilleuls.
